What are the benefits of laser hair removal?

How does the Vectus hair removal tool work?
Laser hair removal works by sending the light of a laser through the pigment (or melanin) in the hair. The light of the laser converts to heat, which damages the hair follicle and hair bulb. This leaves the hair follicles damaged and permanently unable to produce new hairs, or they can produce only very thin, tiny hairs that are virtually invisible.
Because the laser targets the melanin in the hair, laser hair removal may not be effective on blond or gray hair.
Are there side effects?
Side effects are minimal. The most common side effects of Vectus include itching, redness, mild swelling, and skin sensitivity.
Why are multiple treatments needed?
Our hair naturally grows in different stages. All of our hair is not in the same stage at the same time, so only a percentage of hair follicles will be affected during each treatment. Therefore, multiple treatments are necessary to remove all the different stages of hair.
What do I need to know before my appointment?
- The treatment area must be cleanly shaved within 24 hours prior to the appointment.
- Do not tweeze or wax the area being treated for four weeks prior or between sessions. Only shave the area with a non-electric razor.
- The treatment area needs to be clean and free from makeup, lotion, deodorant, and sunscreen. Thoroughly exfoliate the area to remove all residues.
- Sun exposure needs to be avoided 2 weeks prior to and after treatment.
- Do not use fake tanning products 3-4 weeks prior to treatment.
How long until I see results?
It takes two or three weeks after your first treatment to see a difference. Typically, 4-6 treatments are required for complete hair removal. Treatment interval depends on treatment location.
